Stop and Remember this…

By , February 5, 2010 1:02 pm

As we go about our daily business and busy-ness of life, it’s sometimes timely to stop and remember this.  Found this on Twitter, always worth a read.

“Remember man, as you walk by,

As you are now, so once was I.

As I am now, so shall you be.

Remember this and follow me.”

On a tombstone.

What would your tombstone say? 🙂

    Hi there Patty,

You don’t know me from Adam, but I stumbled across your facebook profile, and from there found this website/blog, and just wanted to tell you what a brilliant, creative, out of the box concept you’ve got here.

I’ve never seen anything of this nature online before, you do a really great job of presenting it, your website’s got all the social networking bells and whistles…plus you’ve got added a spiritual dimension to it as well, with a a brill message of basically living each day like its the last, (or first?)

Truly inspiring and savvy, I embody the same ethos and attitude, that there is no such thing as ‘later’, or ‘putting off’ things for a better time, unfortunately most people I know aren’t as evolved or bold as you; they fear losing money more than living each day with authenticity, and to that I say, that is the real tragedy, wasting each day with that overly materialistic mentality.

Anyway, I truly enjoyed your Queensland drive video as well, and your mother’s 90th photo book was really touching, and it struck a chord inside me, and I’m male, or at least my material body is…

    Thanks for reading,

hope to see more blog updates,

    Andi

Andi, thankyou so much for your kind words, you totally ‘get’ my message. I have been to so many funerals, and seen so many funerals: as a small girl, perched high in the tree overlooking the church where my dad was a priest.

Saw all the hand wringing, did all the hand wringing myself aged 12; when my 21yo big brother was killed in a car accident. He never had the chance to grow old, or forget where he put his keys. He never married, or held his first born.

Life was snatched from under him.

You never know what’s around the corner, so I truly believe to fully embrace every opportunity, grab every waking moment, live with integrity and gentle truthfulness to yourself and your community.

This I truly believe. Do unto others etc.

Our day will come, and when it does, I hope my family and Loved Ones celebrate and dance and sing my life.

And that someone has enough energy and forethought to raise a camera to their eye and gently squeeze the button.
